Be a SJ Ally, not a SJ Sally
…all I did was say that Alyx Vance was a pretty cool character. Seriously, Sally?

Recently saw this. The logic?: Incest is horrible and damaging, as are white people. So if someone ships an incest pairing= clearly an insensitive whitey. Or, really a way for a SJS to derail the topic of incest into the matter of whiteness.
Admin: That…had to have been a joke, right? Right?

I can fully understand being upset at the people who recoil in disgust at the mere possibility of homosexuality tainting their franchise or whatever, but someone preferring your OTP as just friends is not an admission of homophobia, Sally.

This was an actual thing in the Pokemon fandom.
Many people complained about a black(ish) character because they didn’t believe her story was being handled well. Some people decided to make it about race, and started to bash another character simply because he was white.

Not one, but TWO cases of this for two different anime and possibly more out there I don’t know of. One case: a shoujo romantic comedy series. The other: A certain already-controversial one that’s attracted Sally-types in both its fandom and hatedom.

The reason this isn’t a fandom Sally is because the people I saw with unreasonable expectations for tagging something #Homestuck magically making people give money to it weren’t part of the Homestuck fandom, by and large.

I don’t know if I’m the only person getting annoyed by all these people complaining about the article that theorised that Merida from Brave might be a lesbian but then turn around and ship random male characters together even though there’s no canon proof that they really are gay just for the sake of having something they can fangirl over.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against shipping or whatever and I know that the Merida article had nothing to do what Brave’s message truly was. But I really don’t see why these people seem to think that being accused of being a lesbian is the worst thing you could ever assume about a fictional character, especially if they’re going to turn around and assume random anime guys are gay because it satisfies their yaoi headcanon.
I don’t know. Forgive me if my opinion is misinformed.
